Hey Everyone,
So this is a sound from Zedd - Stache, and it sounds like its just a filtered saw, but I have sat for the past hour running a saw wave through every type of filtering possible and can't get that timbre from this song. I know for a fact that Zedd used Sylenth1 for the sound, and that is the synth I am using to recreate it.
I'm sure its dead simple, but I'm quite new to synthesis, so I'd really appreciate a push in the right direction.

PS it's the lead synth doing sixteenth notes, not the quarter note bass running underneath.
Can somebody tell me how to make this sound?

Seriously nobody? It seems like such a simple sound. I know people on these forums have a bee in their bonnet about "how to get that sound" questions but please just point me in the right direction.

Thats a really complex sound. It changes a lot during the song. How do you get the idea that it is a simple filtered saw?

Well like I said I'm completely new to synthesis, till now I just used presets. From my very limited experience with synths, it sounds like the changes are made by the manipulation of a couple filters. Correct if I'm wrong

Wow thank you WayneOne, I just gave that a try and it was literally identical! It's amazing to me that I've owned ACE for two years now but because Zedd is known for using Sylenth I never thought to try to create that sound anywhere else, let alone to find that it was a preset.WayneOne wrote:Actually, I think the sound came from the plugin "ACE" by u-he and it's a preset called "HS Ace Ripper".

No sorry, can't help with that. Just play around with the settings and I think high- and low-cut filters, that should help you!itsjack1996 wrote:
