So I have downloaded the installer from Eventide but Windows does not known how to open it. So sad, wanted to play with black hole today

Any idea?

The file is called

209189BlackholeVST1_1windows without even a classifier, which type of file it is (like .dll or .vst or .exe).

You may need to install 7Zip to unzip the file to click and install it.

According to the file name, he is looking at the 64bit version. The download should come as a zip file, which then decompresses into an executable file, which is the installer. It's possible that your download didn't transfer completely?

Also, try opening it from the desktop as opposed to another drive, etc. Sometimes that seems to help.

If he's using Win XP it will need 7zip installed to unzip the zipped files.
I've updated my post so it's easy to download the latest 32 or 64bit version direct from eventide.

Good point regarding 7zip... which I normally don't think about as I do have that installed. That also explains why the file might not be showing up as a zipped file and why his computer doesn't know what to do with it.

Thanks guys, you pointed me in the right direction. I had to put a .zip behind the file name, then could unzip it!

It has this super smooth engine i wish B2 would have. No zipping, clicks, dirt, it is ultra smooth, even if you do the craziest things.
