Hey folks,
in my last project, i fell in love with the waves CLA-2A. I used it so far on the guitars and on the keys. It's a fantastic plugin but i was wondering if there are any other emulations of it available in native? I know about the UAD, but i'm not interested in buying it.
So far, from what i've read in the internet:
Waves CLA-2A
Cakewalk CA-2A
T-Rack White 2A
NI/Softube VC 2A
Variety of Sound Thrillseeker LA ??
Which is the best. What do you prefer most?

It's IMO between Waves and Softube/NI. Softube has more options like a wet/dry for parallel compression and I think it's cheaper but it's this time not so easy to say something about the prices
Waves had also a lot deals the last time where the complete CLA bundle was so cheap where it makes sense to buy all not only the LA-2A.

Shouldn't be the Stripbus emu the most authentic, because it covers all the idiosyncracies of the original?

Which upcoming from Quinto do you mean? I can see no LA2A Emulation on the Sknote Homepage.

Quoted from Quinto at gearslutzThe update for StripBus is a huuuuuuge one. Sta-level, new 1176, 2500... you'll like it. But the amount of work is enormous...
Oh... and the new interfaces..

I don't mean to be a smartass, but if you've fallen in love with the Waves one, why don't just use that? All the others may just as well disappoint you, even if there may be some that are more faithful to the original.
Besides, I've heard lots of good things about the Waves CLA compressors, it can't be a bad choice. Just wait for the bundle to go on sale again.

I bought the Waves Bundle already long time ago but i discovered my love for the CLA-2A again now.
Anyway, i guess i will stick to the Waves but still want to know more about the others and what you think about them.
