The "PC2 Manager" is a nice little free program that uses a computer to add/manage/edit sounds for your Kurzweil PC2/2x. It includes some free sounds as well. It was available until some weeks ago on the Sonikmatter website, but now Sonikmatter has shut down for good. Since I was fortunate enough to get a copy of the program earlier this year, I thought I'd make it available for anyone else who needs it. Internal.pc2 contains 257 patches (128 from bank0, 1 from bank1 and 128 from bank6), but only the first 128 (first bank) are shown.
I guess PC2 manager was designed to show a single bank per file, although it is robust enough to store more banks.
I tried different methods to get the bank6, and I succeeded like this:
- create new bank (Ctrl-N)
- load programs (Ctrl-L)
- choose the Internal.pc2 , press ok, you'll see a list of all 257 patches
- select all the presets from 769 (6*128+1, bank6, 128 patches per bank, 1st preset from this bank) till the end.
So ignore preset 256 Sine.
You can do this selection by left clicking on 769, then scrolling until end at 896 and then press shift and left-click on 896.
- press ok to import the selection, then press Fill in the dialog that appears
- save the new bank AS Internal2.pc2 or other name.
