Does anyone know where I can get my hands on a copy of Kontakt 4 Free Player? I purchased the full version of 5, which I use for all my sound libraries. However, I just got Orange Tree Strawberry Electric Guitar, and it has been making Kontakt 5 crash everytime I load a sound from it. Apparently (according to Orange Tree's forums), there is a bug within Kontakt 5 that causes problems with Orange Tree, which was made prior to Kontakt 5's release.

Does anyone know where I can get the free Kontakt 4 player from? I want to install this to use whenever I need my Orange Tree Guitar.

Thanks

Sorry, but there only the update is found:
This is an update installer of Kontakt Player 4.2.4 for Windows users. A previous version of Kontakt Player 4 must be installed.
Will need Kontakt 4 Player installed first, before this updated is applied.

I've also tried to get hold of Kontakt 4 Player, becuause usage of 3 party libraries there are allowed for 30 minutes sessions, not 15 minutes like in Kontakt 5 ;-)

So I did a bit of googling in the past, but the net seems to be sucked dry for Kontakt 4 :(

Another question: Would I be able to use Orange Tree Electric Guitar on the free Kontakt player with no restrictions? Orange Tree is not a licensed Kontakt program FYI.

Short answer = No

Says here that full version of Kontakt is required:
http://www.orangetreesamples.com/evolut ... strawberry

But there are options like for instance Prominy SC Guitar, that runs in Kontakt Player: http://www.prominy.com/SC.htm

But that is much more expensive though...

Here's a link to Kontakt 3.5 that may help. I know I have a version of the K4 player in my eSoundz account, you could check with Allen there and see if he can let you have a copy. They're very helpful there, and if you already have an account, they can just put it in there for you.

FML. I guess this topic was all in vain then. Hopefully Kontakt fixes the Orange Tree issue soon!

make sure you get the right version... the early versions of kontakt 4 player did in fact give you 30 minutes, but they clamped it down on a later release (4.0.5 from what i see online) to the same 15 minutes.

kontakt 4 player is the same thing as kontakt 4, without a license. anyone with komplete 6 (or 5/7?) should be able to send you an installer off the original dvds, maybe..

Only catch is that most third party libraries I've bought recently require Kontakt version 4.2.4 or higher, so even if I got Kontakt 4.0, I couldn't use my libs

Someday I will buy Kontakt 8)

That is a bootleg, can't use files like that.

I think I was there.

Kontakt 4.1.1 contains an update not the full installation, according to this:

Thanks. Going to grab this one (even though it seems like it wont work with Orange Tree). Worth a shot.

normally, the updates have Update in the name; if it doesn't say update, it's usually the full version. this one doesn't, though i didn't try it (as i have 4.2.4 already installed). also, it's 363MB, while the 4.2.4 update is only ~97MB.

Well, anyhow, unfortunately:
demo mode = 15min use per session.
