I just downloaded ver 2.1, and some interesting 'AI' enhancements have been added.
Bravo !
Does Rapid Composer currently (or will soon ) have the facility to 'generate' selectable 'types' of voicings that would associate with, and harmonize with some original, single(monophonic) track/line ?? . . i.e., allowing the user the option of having Rapid Composer algorithmically 'fitting' a harmony directly to a single source melody line
( blocked .. open, .. dropped, ... 2-voice interval, . pedal .. etc ..... ) ?

How about: ...
(1) The system copies a 'rhythmic' pattern mask of the melody phrase (or which ever track the user chooses to be harmonized)
(2) The system then applies that rhythmic mask against a harmony generated track, such that the resulting interaction carves the harmony track into the 'same rhythm patterns' as the melody track had
(3) Some subsequent user choices would then be (a) transpose/shift harmony notes to not rise above the melody (b) allow the top harmony voice to rise above the melody, (c) allow the 3rd and/or 5th harmony notes to rise (shift) above the melody .. etc .. etc .. (d) never allow ANY harmony voice to rise above the melody note . . . etc .. a lot of choices are possible ... ( note shifting could be constrained by := parallel . exact .. interval ... above-or-below melody)

I don't know how I missed this excellent post!
Harmonizing a melody is definitely planned in a next update. When I will work on the implementation, I may have questions about choices/options.
A serious melody generator is in the works. With the default settings it will generate cantus firmus but there will be many options for allowed intervals, note range, how steps/leaps are applied, etc.
Thank you, atonal!
