iZotope Ozone comes to mind.. All you need just in one tool. Used by quite a few pro's if that's important to you (see their website for reviews and testimonials)

Why not give the T-Racks Custom Shop a try and get a free mastering EQ while you're at it?

Voxengo Polysquasher sounds great. It actually brought a silly smile to my face the first time i put it on the master track, i find it very smooth and very transparent.

it depends how much dough you have. And what material you will be mastering.
Don't expect to be buying some professional plugins then immediately achieving professional results. Mastering is an art-form all of its own. A science, one of the dark arts

My choice would be EQlibrium or EQuality or Pro-Q for eq, Sonnox Dynamics or Alpha compressor for compression. Actually, my choice would be to find an experienced mastering engineer.

You could try the free ReaComp and ReaEQ...if you want to have a clean sound.

For adding more coloring, there surely are better alternatives (mostly hardware-emulations).

And in case you're reading the Dance Music Manual, always use the PSP Vintage Warmer...

Seriously: If you learn compressing & eq-ing, you don't have to use compressors & EQ's for hundreds of $, then you can achieve great results with less expensive stuff.

(Aren't there even mastering engineers who use the FREE TDR Feedback Compressor for mastering?)

Mastering is a mindset not a process

It doesn't really matter all that much what plugins you use

Using TDR alot myself though and Pro-Q (sometimes in linear phase.case by case basis) for the subtle mastering duties (subtle is the keyword)
