Great little synth. It took a little while to get used to, and it is definitely a little quirky, but in a fun way, and It worked very well.

Ok guys, here's my entry for this OSC:

DAW: FL 9.
23 instances: mostly stock sounds, a few slightly modified. Moderate usage of DAW effects (multiband compressor, reverb, stereo enhancer, distorsion) on several instrument tracks & "Limiter no. 6" used on the master track.

TBH working with this synth was quite a struggle: the DAW kept freezing, crashing & cracking like crazy; I was forced to export each track as wav and then import them back in order to prevent it from overloading. Each step required separate session saving, and yet some got corrupted. On top of all that, I've started making this song backwards - from finish to start (a first for me). All in all, I'm actually amazed that I was able to patch something together for this OSC. I'm not 100% pleased with the result - this synth is not my cup of tea and I was forced to work out of my comfort zone - but in the end, I think the result is not bad at all and the song is true to its title: made from little sounds and patterns that form flowing sonic tapestries - like the pebbles and pieces of glass rolling inside the kaleidoscope

The DAW used was Reaperx64 in windows7.
No effects added except Reaper's internal compressor ReaXcomp in the Master Mixer.
Eight instances of the XILS 3 BE vsti spread through eight midi tracks.

It's a very basic vintage original song, in a Jarre magnetic fields style. This synth gave me a lot of reminiscent textures from Jarre music.

Those little buttons on the mod matrix where a pain! It definitely has a cool vintage-y unpredictable sound, but I thought the interface was a pain to use.

The making of this track was a bit of bipolar feeling.
I loved to make those sounds. But thinking of my dear friend, who lies in coma makes me so sad.
An accident happend, now he's in really bad shape. (Brain Swelling, Brain Bleeding, broken vertebra etc...)
So, I really hope to see him soon!!
At least, I dedicate this track to him.

Hi Guys!

I have finished my track!
Working with XILS was not a pure pleasure, because it claimed so much power of the CPU. Fortunately, my DAW (Live 5) has already the "Freeze"-function, so I could manage more instances than my CPU was actually able to calculate in real-time. But permanently freezing and unfreezing the tracks took very much time... And several bugs - like the bass-drift, the missing velocity-automation for note's volume or a hold-function in the envelope where it should not be - made the work a struggle.

Nevertheless I got some results that surprised me in a positive way. A powerful synth, which challenges the CPU to reveal all of its power

I used
- 18 instances of XILS 3 BE
- 3 times host-native reverb (modulation disabled)
- 1 time host-native EQ Four
- 1 time host-native utility
- a bit volume automation (to mute a note which is only played to get the right glide start for the next note of a lead sound)
