I just bought Amplitube for iPad at $20.

According to an email I received, the 8-track option is 40% off and the loop packs are 40% off.

What is the original price of these in app purchases, because the 8-track option is a whopping $26 - more than the cost of the app, and the loops aren't bad - I bought the bundle for $9.

So, what is the normal price for these? None of the ads say and I think $26 is WAY too steep for an in app purchase that amounts to a 8-track DAW.

Auria was $50 total (Amplitube is $20 plus the $26 upgrade is $46) - and Auria has WAY more than 8 tracks.

Most of my other DAWs were cheap next to Amplitube.

I bought it because I wanted, believe it or not, the automatic drummer so that I could use that with other apps (with either audiobus or background audio) - i'm not a guitarist, so using the rest of it may be useful for vocals or using other guitar apps routed through Amplitube (if that can be done)???

I don't know - seems very expensive to me - and if those prices are 40% off already (the in app purchases only), then OUCH.

Normally single loops are $4.99, Loop Bundle is $14.99 and the 8 Track Recorder is $14.99.

These loops were professionally recorded in a studio with, you know, professional studio musicians. Professional engineers with professional gear and then mixed down. Other apps are other apps, they aren't AmpliTube. Especially when it comes to tone, many try but we're on everyone's top lists, frequently featured on iTunes and chosen by many legendary brands to accurately model their gear.

So why is the 8-track update $26? When I run the app and try to purchase the update (that turns it into a 8-track DAW), it says its $26.

Too expensive IMHO.

To each their own, but many are taking advantage of the prices in our Summer Strummer promo. If you are talking about the upgrade from AmpliTube FREE to Full that is different than just the 8 track recorder or the "Total Recorder Bundle" which includes both the classic Recorder- Master FX section together with the new AmpliTube Studio Section, all in one package.

I like IK's products a lot, I own and use many on a daily basis (irig keys is fantastic, as are ilectric and igrand). But Obik, that may be the most condescending, marketing driven answer I've ever seen. When people complain about IK spamming forums, it's because of that kind of stuff. You do not take any comment that is not 100% positive very well. Slamming other apps is also not necessary. The final part of your answer, of the price possibly being for a bundle and not the 8 track would have been sufficient. People come here for help, not to be proven wrong if they feel an app has a shortcoming or if they prefer something else.

You are correct about one thing, auria and amplitube are not equivalent; auria is a full blown, excellent DAW, and Amplitube is an amp sim with a convenient recorder available as an add on (and there are a few other similar options, all good so which to use is purely down to users' taste). And that's ok, they serve different purposes. It is not possible to mix a 48 track (or 9 track) project in amplitube.

Peace, I hope to read more constructive advice from you in the future and l look forward to product announcements that present facts without condescending tones because the facts about your products and apps are enough to sell them. They are very good and fill a niche, which is helpful when making music.

Cue Jordan Rudess 8-track marketing video as totally unrelated proof that there is nothing wrong here.

Mike - this seems to have been a missed question/point. Yes, you can route other apps through AmpliTube's FX etc via Audiobus since it works in all three slots. Note that you can only use an app in a single slot at a time, though, so you'd want to use LoopDrummer separately (meaning not whilst you were processing other apps' signal with AT in the FX slot in Audiobus). Hope that helps. Edit - though with vocals, etc you can simply use AmpliTube directly as it does accept input other than guitar, I should have offered that option as well since you could be looking to keep your Audiobus slots and processing as lean as can be depending on the situation/project/etc /end Edit

On the pricing question, I'm not debating it as opinions are of course opinions and valid based on a person's tastes and situation and all that but $26.99 is the normal price for the Multitrack (8 track) Recorder add-on + Studio (DAW-like editing suite functionality that complements the 8-track recorder) so that is not discounted at this time. We are looking forward to offering as much functionality as possible without compromising the tone of the gear in the other sections of AmpliTube and we will do so as much as possible with what we offer as far as any in-app functionality is concerned. I'm glad to hear that you are indeed using AmpliTube for what it brings to you and thank you for your input on the functionality and pricing.

No videos necessary for that, it should be clear and constructive a reply without - though we do have Audiobus-related videos on our YouTube channel should you so desire to check them out and they aren't hard to find ;)
