Let's say I upload 10 of my own tracks to Spotify (one album) each song is 3 min = 30 min

For a year I put this album on repeat in my Spotify, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, that leads to: 175200 songs streamed per year * £0,004 = £700,8

Cost of Spotify per month = £10 a month = £120

Revenue = £579,2

It this allowed?

You don't get anywhere near 0.4p per stream there I don't think.

More like 0.004.

Not according to this source:

$29.80 paid for 5,960 streams. That's .005 DOLLARS, not .005 cents.

What if I got 20 separate spotify accounts, that would all stream my own music

I'm sure they have mechanisms in place to prevent you from gaming the system. Maybe if you had a few hundred accounts with unique ip addresses...

Who knows, might work.
I just wish we could all do what we love and not have to worry about money. World MIGHT be an even more beautiful place. Might also suck, I have no idea.

It's the equivalent of what has been done in the 80ies:

Instead of spending a whole lot on marketing you have a network of people in every major city buying up your album in the first week so your sales go through the roof and your album becomes part of the news cycle. Tadaaah... of course it costs money, but to get that sort of coverage would cost a lot of money as well.

There's always been a very shady side to the music business and unfortunately the honest musician has to pay the price for this behavior in all kinds of ways...

Makes me think of the Hunter S. Thompson quote:

"The music business is a cruel and shallow money trench, a long plastic hallway where thieves and pimps run free, and good men die like dogs. There's also a negative side."

And who says your songs have to be 3 minutes long? Make them 3 seconds long (or as short as allowed, if there are rules) and maximise your profits. Outsource your listening to South-east Asia (you know, where you go to buy your FB "likes"), lean back and think about which model of Lexus you're going to buy.
