Settings: Use only ORDER on/ off?

I understand that using this setting you can make the bar/ column control in Order control all the other sequencers.
What I don't understand is why, if you turn off a step and mute that note/ step, you would ever want another sequencer on anyway ... as it wouldn't have any effect if the step/ note was muted.
I asked a similar question about immediate start of notes and got a good explanation of an advantage for live play.
Can anyone explain here what advantage there could be to having other steps on (in other words, not enabling the setting "Use only Order on/ off") when the order note was muted?
Thanks.

Hi Como,
Sometimes I like to turn this preference setting ON so that all the tabs reflect the notes I muted in the first 'Order' tab. It visually helps.
But other times I like it turned OFF so that each tab is as independent as possible. For example: I might have the Loop Points set differently (or reversed) in the 'Accent' tab and I don't necessarily want the first tab's mutes affecting this tab.

I guess I'm struggling to understand the synchronicity of the different sequencers. If your accent was 'on' when a muted note didn't play, what difference would it make?
Or do you mean that if you set the accent to a different step cycle for randomness, that accented note would fall different places on different notes tht did play?

Though it isn't random, It is recurring hopefully in a musical way. The accent syncopation (falling in different places each time the pattern loops) can be very interesting. I also like to do this with an octave shift here and there. At first it might sound random but it is actually cycling predictably adding another dimension to the simpler loop.

You mean it repeats exactly every 43.25 bars?
I'm still working on repeating on those nice comfortable 1, 2, 4 and 8 bar intervals.
After I learn the rules I'll start breakin' 'em.

I also build mostly 4, 8, 12, etc. bar patterns. But then, as a later step, I might use this technique to add a bit of seasoning to a comfortable pattern, like a chef adding spices to make things taste better. Cream is capable of it - so if your pattern need a little spicing up, season to taste!
