The greatest pleasure I get from developing the impOSCar is when I hear somthing cool that someone's created with it, whether it's a patch or a track.

So thanks for doing these, I'm listening to the audio demo right now, love these sounds.

Bought without even demoing - not many sets for IMP 2 and I'm sure this will be quality

Very encouraging, and you did great work on impOSCar1/2 it's an exceptional synth.

Let me know if you get impOSCar2.
Love it if you could do another demo for this one too.

*** EDIT: Solved. See solution in my next post. ***

I like the description and the demo song, but I'm having trouble installing the demo patches.I'm running the new 64-bit Imposcar2 on Sonar X2a, and here's my workflow.

1. Start Sonar, open a new file, and insert Imposcar2.
2. VST menu -> Load preset. The file open dialog appears.
3. Navigate to one of the demo preset files and load it.
4. Play the preset.
5. Repeat steps 2 and 3. Sonar freezes. "SONARPDR.EXE has stopped working." (I very seldom see that.)
6. Wait a moment and close program.
7. Try to restart Sonar.
8. Step 7 fails, so I open Windows Task Manager and try to kill the process.
9. Step 8 fails, so I restart Windows 7.
10. Start over with step 1.

Is there a better way?

BTW the PDF distributed with the demo presets says, "Please see your ImpOSCar 2 manual for installation instructions." But the manual doesn't cover this, maybe because it's a host function.

Thanks.

Do you have any problems loading any other ImpOSCar patches? There are some free ones available here: http://www.kvraudio.com/product/imposca ... /downloads

If you can't load any patches, it could be a problem with your installation of ImpOSCar, or possibly, Sonar.

The manual shows the paths to the impOSCar2 preset folder.
You can also run a search in the finder for "imposcar2" and see if they're there.
Then drop the demo folder within that preset folder, then they should show up within the imposcar gui preset window.
First check the standalone imposcar2, or try another daw or host to see if it's an issue only with Sonar.
Might want to also delete the "au" audiopreset files in my demo folder, as those are for mac os, but really shouldn't cause a problem. There's also those midi chord files in there.

The manual says this for patch locations
Mac: User/Library/Audio/Presets/GForce/impOSCar2/impOSCar2 Patches
PC: C:/(wherever you select)

A gentle bump for Michael. You always make excellent sounds my friend!

Sorry for the confusion.

Once I decided to use Windows Explorer instead of the Imposcar2 UI, I found that installing these presets is very easy. Just find the location in the file system (mine is at c:\Program Files(x86)\GForce\ImpOSCar2\Patches\), create a new folder, and copy the files (except the aupresets) into that folder.

I bought the product, and I'm enjoying it a lot.

Glad you got that worked out, and hope the sounds help in your future creative efforts.
...which I'd like to hear, if you come up with something using these.
Thanks again.
