well very soon however, I'm worried like touchosc I may not be able to get it working so if it doesn't would I be eligible for a refund?. I wish they adopt Android's model where you can test a program out and if it doesn't work recieve a refund within the 20 min timeline

You could try for a refund, but you'll have to choose one of the following reasons as to why you're requesting a refund:
I didn't receive this application.
I inadvertently purchased this application.
This application does not function as expected.
This application is not compatible with my device.
I have another purchase or download-relation question.
Would you like to see if we can get TouchOSC connected to your computer before you consider buying Lemur?
The problem is, that if you can't get TouchOSC connected, Lemur uses pretty much the same processes.
What exactly have you tried?
If you could also explain your set-up, eg PC or Mac, and any other equipment you used in your attempts to connect TouchOSC to your computer, we can give you some advice to get you up and running.

Thanks,
I'm PC
Windows 8
Ableton 9
Have an iodock
Problem is my housemates hog all the wifi so latency is crazy high that touchosc is unusable. I thought by using the iodock I could plug the usb in and it work however, it doesn't.
Anyone help please?

First off, I wouldn't worry too much about Sysex - I'm not sure that Live9 supports it anyway; I don't know about Max4Live, but unless you're doing some serious programming, you don't need to dump your iODock!
I have two iODocks and most of what I do doesn't require it - if I do need it, I just connect my iPad/s in another way.
Right then, here we go!
I'm not a Ableton user, but as I'm always looking to increase my knowledge, and have an iODock connected to my Win7 PC and one to my Mac, and both TouchOSC and Lemur, I thought I'd have a bit of a play. I got the demo of Live9 and away I went.
After getting Lemur to work very quickly with a simple keyboard layout to test that I understood the connection process, I was ready to try TouchOSC, and very quickly realised there was an issue - which there was!
It seems as though an extra bit of software is required on your PC (and it looks to be the case whether you're running TouchOSC or Lemur).
It looks like this Livecontrol (on TouchOSC) has evolved into version2, which now runs on Lemur.
The following link has all the information you'll need, including the link to download the free bit of software to have bi-directional communication between TouchOSC and your PC:
http://livecontrol.q3f.org/legacy/livec ... stallation
There seems to be a bit of configuration needed but let us know if you run into any problems, and thanks - I had a blast and learnt a lot!
Good luck mate.

Thanks I can get it working wirelessly with touchosc, however, I wanted to know if I could plug the usb from my new io dock to my pc and run touchosc like that. At the moment I can't it seems, and as I mentioned going wireless is unusable at this state because the net is always being used constantly.

You could (sneakily) install a bandwith limitter like http://www.seriousbit.com/netbalancer/ and reserve some headroom for yourself without anyone knowing..monsterism wrote:Thanks I can get it working wirelessly with touchosc, however, I wanted to know if I could plug the usb from my new io dock to my pc and run touchosc like that. You should be using an adhoc (direct between your computer and device) wifi connection anyway - not using a shared one:monsterism wrote: Problem is my housemates hog all the wifi so latency is crazy high that touchosc is unusable.
you can either do it manually:

or there are utilities that make it easier on PC (on Mac it's a no brainer but when I was on Windows I found it kept dropping the connection until I used Connectify which is brilliant)

Thanks but what's the benefit of ad-hoc, doesn't still use the bandwidth from the internet?

Nope - it's a direct wifi connection just between your PC and device, should have much better latency.monsterism wrote:Thanks but what's the benefit of ad-hoc, doesn't still use the bandwidth from the internet?

hi, is it true I can use the internet at the same time by creating an ad-hoc network. Thats a deal breaker for me at this moment.

Only if you have an ethernet connection to the net too. But really it's useless trying to use something like Lemur or Touchosc over a shared wifi network, if you want to use them via wifi you need to go adhoc, it's the only way apart from a physical USB connection that will give playable results.monsterism wrote:hi, is it true I can use the internet at the same time by creating an ad-hoc network. Disagree that only an ad hoc connection will give you usable results. If you're trying to play drums or something, sure, but for tweaking controls, pulling down a fader, whatever, regular wifi works perfectly well.
