Is there any hardware device, sort of like a "double adaptor" for the iPad that allows one to use a separate hardware device (in my case the Griffin MidiConnect) and be able to charge the iPad at the same time?
Thanks
Thanks

You can try to use the optional USB-powered hub (with ac adapter). But should check the compatibility before purchasing. Officially, these devices Apple does not produce.

Thanks FB but I think you may have misunderstood - I am not looking for a USB "double adaptor", more a double Apple Connector socket. The Griffin connects using the Apple Connector (you know the 30 pin thing), and want to be able to charge the iPad as well as use the Griffin device.

Though if you haven't already bought the griffin the irig midi will connect midi devices and charge at the same time.

Thanks guys, I will check them all out.
And yeah I already have the Griffin device. The issue only came up as I am changing methodology to using JUST the iPad on gigs with my Roland A70. I guess I can always ensure that the iPad is fully charged before each gig, but in the studio where I sometimes have stuff working for many hours the charge as I use (with the device) will be needed.
Cheers

That Vestax looks pretty cool! Have you used it personally? If so, thoughts?Spiritos wrote:http://www.vestax.com/v/products/detail.php?cate_id=190
The Griffin Studio Connect is a great device, but too fixed in how one has to use it
Maybe I can flog off the Griffin for the Vestax, also with a volume control, it does give some greater flexibility for smaller instrument only (keys) gigs. I can still use the mixer for gigs with vocals.
Thanks again for the link - I had never heard of it before

No experience with it. I was just looking around when I stumbled on it.miden wrote: That Vestax looks pretty cool! Have you used it personally? If so, thoughts?

Actually I just had a closer look at it - it is not going to work as the A70 only has the standard 5 pin MIDI sockets. The V uses a 6 pin to USB system.
Looks like the Vestax can only go with USB equipped controllers, pity, it looked really cool.

My pet peeve: the trend towards MIDI devices that don't even support 5 pin DIN...miden wrote:Actually I just had a closer look at it - it is not going to work as the A70 only has the standard 5 pin MIDI sockets. The V uses a 6 pin to USB system.
