reset on new note

Forgive me but I am a newbie to this.
If i understand it correctly then if this switch (reset on new note) is on then does that mean that the steps should start from the first step?
So, if i have 8 steps and I enter a new note on the 4th step then the arpeggio should start back at the first step?
I don't think it's doing that - v1.0.7
Or is my understanding wrong?

I have an 8step pattern, I want to make it start over, from the start. The blue box that indicates the actual step we are on should go back to the first step, but it doesn't seem to.

Hi,
You should enable the 'Reset on pattern reset' on data section.
When enabled the data section resets when ever pattern resets.
