Guys, isn't it quite a recognizeable performance of the ear and the brain that it CAN recognize when a sample is played multiple times? I mean, we are not able to describe the exact difference if two very similar samples are played, however we feel it if they are exactly the same. I think this is a remarkable capability of the human to be able to distinguish exact copies from very similar round robin samples. Round robin samples are so similar that they sound equal, but they arent. Still, exact copies sound a lot different. To be able to do this distinction the analysis going on in ear and brain has to be very very fine resolution. Really remarkable I think.

also remarkable is how hearing the smallest phrase of a melody, we can hear the whole song instantly and remember a specific time ad place we heard that song!

Thinking about it, here is another thing: the basket ball player, the brain controls all the hundreds of large and tiny muscles in chest, shoulder, arm and fingers and calculates movements that throw the ball into the basket. It's more like the body as a whole has a huge intelligence. Your brain alone would need hours and days to calculate how the muscles should move to place the ball in the basket. The body does it in an instance.

Also remarkable is, that in contrast to this astonishing intelligence, the will is so simple and only wants girls and booze

True that,if you look at it as a pure DSP exercise. However if you look at it from an Evolution point of view,that skill is actually useful. Recognizing drum machines didn't become useful as a means for procreation until the 80ies and even then it wasn't particularly effective.
