I'm looking for a set of decent, comfortable, open cans for listening / late night mixing. I've been using closed, ATH m40 thus far and I was quite happy with them, but my ears are not in so good shape they used to be and I can't stand keeping them on for longer periods. I did some research and on paper Shure mentioned in topic title looks good, anyone had them on and would share impressions? Mostly I'm interested in 'comfort' sensation.

If at all possible try them out at a pro audio shop with music you like before spending that kind of money. I'd also consider Grado and AKG in that price range.

I don't believe in trying out in a shop, any new listening device takes me at least two weeks to get accustomed to and really find out, if it fits me. I read some opinions that those open AKG's are not very comfortable in the long run, so I don't want to risk them. Grado has that audiophile aura, which puts me off. Bayerdynamic would be an alternative, but anyway I think I made up mind mind on trying them out blindly.
