21 Pilots is a 2-person deal with a drummer and keys/vocals. The drummer is particularly good, but the lead guy is also a great showman and singer. I hadn't heard of them prior to the show, so browsed some youtubes... wasn't terribly impressed with what I heard, but interestingly they're one of those unique bands that is 100x better live than recorded. Their live show simply kicked @ss. And i don't throw that around for any ol' wannabe fad band.
Panic at the Disco I had heard on CDs emanating loudly from my daughter's bedroom, but other than that, seemed like another teeny bopper alt-pop band... Well, these guys are the real deal, lemme tell you. The lead singer has a fantastic voice. Another you-gotta-see-these-guys-live-to-get-the-real-experience bands... Really good live show.
FOB was good. Lotta the same types of songs, which I guess isn't atypical for "bands", of course. The drummer was fantastic, and they mixed things up with a small acoustic break on the opposite side of the arena, which was a nice touch.
The average age at this show was probably 20, tops, maybe even younger (seriously)... but it's good to see the youngins embracing some new-old-fashioned rock and roll with actual singing 'n playing 'n stuff... and what's that? Actual background vocal harmonies?
