I'm quite sure that they're about to release the Abbey Road bundle (REDD + RS56 + J37) as I predicted on one of my previous posts (about 11 days ago).Novalis wrote:I wonder why they model a vintage tape machine again?
Why not model the characteristics of the very last high-end tape machines?
Optimal number of audio plugins is one more than you currently have.

I'd like to know what's the exact involvement of Abbey Road in the programming/developping process of the plugs. Softube have a real partnership with the engineers that first created the unit they're willing to emulate (Trident for eg) but Waves doesn't seem to work that way. For example, the SSL suite is more about using a trademark than working hand in hand with SSL (which have the Duende product line btw). To me it directly impacts the quality of the emulation in a positive or negative way...does anyone have an answer to this ?

There are at least three developers with Abbey Road partnership: Softube, Waves, AND Propellerhead (Abbey Road Keyboards). I'm sure that every wealthy company who is willing to pay some serious bucks to Abbey Road is qualified to add Abbey Road logo on their product.Endor-8o8 wrote:I'd like to know what's the exact involvement of Abbey Road in the programming/developping process of the plugs. Sorry to be the one to ask: no indication of this being part of the big bundles, right?

Except for REDD (maybe one or two others), the Abbey Road ones have not been part of Mercury.medienhexer wrote:Sorry to be the one to ask: no indication of this being part of the big bundles, right?

Just did a quick test and found out that those animated reels do spin nicely on Reaper, but on Sonar (X1d) the tape is kinda caught in a capstan for some reason.

Am I only person in this vast universe with non-spinning J35 reels when trying it on Sonar?! Even Waves support team seem to think my issue is not worth of answering.

Quite honestly i am having hard time understanding are you joking or what. Why in the world do you care for spinning cartoonish reels? If plugin is working in the way it's processing audio as advertised isn't it only thing important??J4R1O wrote:Am I only person in this vast universe with non-spinning J35 reels when trying it on Sonar?! Spinning reels...i bet someone will whine how tape size should decrease on one reel and increase on another..or is it a joke?
