Synth1 64bit version...?

Does anybody know if Ichiro Toda has plans to make 64bit version of Synth1...?
I just tried Synth1 with JBridge and one instance (under Live9-64) of Synth1 1.12 consumes about 18MB of RAM (total consumption with JBridge auxhost.exe), which is triple of the 6MB that single instance would consume on 32bit host.
It is not unusual for me to have 20-40 instances, so the RAM consumption will be big

especially with 64bit.zorniko wrote:You never know with Ichiro...
40x18=720MB
Well, its not that much
Whoever wants music instead of noise, joy instead of pleasure, soul instead of gold, creative work instead of business, passion instead of foolery, finds no home in this trivial world of ours.

Answer:
Not having to use any bridge at all when the whole system is 64 bit.
Even thought it usually works OK, bridging plugins is only a make shift solution.

Yet it should be considered someone might use 1000 or more instances of Synth1. It's is one of the easiest vsti's on the CPU. So when someone would test how many Synth1's their DAW can run at once it would be a real bummer when not the CPU but RAM were the limiting factor.

The more I hang around at KVR the less music I make.

What would be funny is if he sold/ licensed the code to NI or Uhe and they modified it to run in their modular environments so that you could add in other types of oscillators, envelopes and filters. Instantly allowing us to reinterpret all the 10,000 presets with new components. What if he created insert points in the chain to allow modular interaction with other synth components? Or maybe someone who has tried to use it in front of filter fx like tone 2 bifilter or similar FX and provide us some bad ass examples.

Synth1 is NOT a SynthEdit creationScottZ wrote:well I think it would totally depend on synthedit 64 bit version being released.

It would be great to have 64bit version of Synth1. I think it is an excellent synth as it is. Additional 'things' means more cpu usage and it won't be Synth1 anymore.
Using: Cubase Pro 15, Reason 13, Tascam US-4x4HR, MODX6, DM12D, LaunchKey 49, Yamaha guitar(Pacifica 612v) and bass (BB234) and some virtual instruments and synths.

well discovery pro which also emulates nord lead has a 0df that is nord lead modeled.izonin wrote:Plus Synth1 is a Nord Lead emu, and Nords aren't 0df. Probably none of the HW VA's are. You'd lose that special plastic sound.
