I purchased RC almost two years ago. So many crashes I gave up. Fast Forward to last week. Watched Chris's Video. Downloaded the update and tons of crashes and audio problems. crackling to the point of being unusable. Tried 3 different interfaces adjusting buffer size and sample rates. no luck. if anyone has any suggestions please let me know. I will try the next update. Vsts just crash RC.

Lounge Lizard 4 and Massive. Using a Saffire LE firewire also tried a steinberg ur28m USB. and for kicks the onboard sound on a lenovo laptop. all with the same results using Asio and tried every sample and buffer size available.

No good. I don't know why it's giving you problems. I do not use or have either one of those VSTs, so I can't try them out with my setup. Actually I think I got Massive free with a Maschine update (1.
so maybe I can check that out.
I have zero issues. The OCCASIONAL crash (really).... but that's it.
Is your music computer online? My laptop is (where I test versions of RC). And if the wireless is on, and if I have a few programs open, I get glitchy playback. Not the case at all with my offline studio computer (Windows 7, 64-bit, 8GB ram).
Are you using the 64-bit version of RC or 32? I've been using ONLY the 32-bit since version 2.3. The program is so light, I find that 64-bit is basically unnecessary.
Any information would be greatly helpful to myself and Attila. Do you remember exactly what you were doing when you experienced the crashes?
Thanks!!

Also, have you tried NOT using VSTs? Just the built-in soundfonts? Just to see if RC works ok with the built-in sounds? I know the SFs don't sound great. But maybe, let's see if those VSTs are hogging your RAM or just behaving oddly.
What are your system specs?

Weird. It's gotta be your computer man. I used to have weird audio issues with the early versions of RC (1.9, etc). Not since.
Could be a frequency thing... There was a lot of 48000/44100 confusion with my interface. Attila fixed any weird stuff WAY back in 2012 though, so I don't know...
edit: You have a PM

Tried the demo again after many months. After watching the videos things do seem to be a lot more straight forward. For some reason a lot of icons and notes seemed to disappear randomly but will still continue to be played. Then my tool would change for no reason it seemed. Maybe I could've sorted it out with more patience, but after 10 minutes of trying to get things to show up and figuring out why I had a pencil tool instead of the previous grab one I gave up. Maybe I'll demo it again in six months to a year to see if the program has progressed.

Pencil tool? There aren't any "tools" in RC really... it's the default mouse cursor.
A little confused...

I've never had video glitches with RC but it sounds like your video card could be going. I've had similar problems as you describe with a video card that was on its way out. Cakewalk Sonar had a garbled display, missing notes, icons changing to others. Definitely a sign of a video card on its last leg.

Maybe? I don't know. Haven't had any video glitches regarding anything else. I am on a 2010 macbook which certainly isn't cutting edge. Seems weird the only glitch would be on this demo and no other problems whatsoever with my other programs/use. Seems like external speculation. Anyway, I was pretty impressed with the progress overall. It's getting much closer. Will look to try again in the future. Keep up the progress and I'll wait until it's a more mature product. Thanks.

It is definitely becoming a more stable and versatile program, so thank you.
You aren't by any chance using a MIDI keyboard controller with it are you? I've noticed that some of the weird graphic glitches do happen when inputting live MIDI. It is something we're still working on, but if you just use RC without controlling it via a MIDI keyboard, it's very, very stable (especially version 2.3).
Thanks!
