MIDI Controller to adjust VST parameters?

Hi guys,
Idk if I'm being stupid or not but is there such a thing as a MIDI controller that can control various VST parameters (such as attack for a compressor, feedback for delay, etc.)? Preferably just a knob or slider would be easiest - the simpler the better. I saw the Griffin Powermate.. Would that work in Logic Pro X for my needs?
Thanks,
Katie

I like the Novation stuff but there are many others available. Launchkey or Nocturn may suit you. Depends what you need.

I love my KORG nanoKontrol. Whatever, you need "MIDI learn" in your host to assign directly to VST parameters, if the VST doesn't natively support MIDI CCs.

Yeah, the nocturn looks pretty sweet. Anything else like it or is it the only kind of controller on the market?thecontrolcentre wrote:I like the Novation stuff but there are many others available. Launchkey or Nocturn may suit you. Depends what you need.

Most DAWs seem to have a way to program practically any midi controller that has knobs/fader/buttons etc so that you can use it to control your VST.
I like Novation controllers the most b/c of Automap. It's pretty good. The software itself can be a tad bit quirky.. but once you get it working for you, it works very well IMO and is worth any headaches it gives setting it up to fit your workflow.
