That's your http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eustachian_tube and it serves a purpose. Without that, you would never be able to correct air pressure difference between inner and outer ear, and you'd have mucus sitting there forever.psychoxkps wrote:it is very big flaw human have ears like this

oh, so thats is must.. so why is not useful for hearing purpose but use it for feelings? maybe when i have damped ears i should undamp it?? u know.... for hear 20Hz and 20kHz - i dont think inbetween but i feel it is little "cutted" from sides and maybe notch too.. i dont know.. so will be my feelings better w/ damped ears? i dont think damped hear inbetween r best - that is wrong way:)
or what u think about mine ideas?

It is a much bigger flaw that we cannot control the volume of sound we want to hear.psychoxkps wrote:it is very big flaw human have ears like this )
Sometime when we need peace, when sleeping for example, we cannot turn down the hearing, or turn it off complete.
There would be no need for noise cancelling headphones if we had this ability

Not quite true. If I'm asleep I don't hear anything anymore. Even when I'm awake, sometimes I don't really process the sounds around me. So you can shut yourself off to some extent.Numanoid wrote:Sometime when we need peace, when sleeping for example, we cannot turn down the hearing, or turn it off complete.

Every human should at least have a volume control and a "mute" button...Numanoid wrote:It is a much bigger flaw that we cannot control the volume of sound we want to hear.psychoxkps wrote:it is very big flaw human have ears like this )
