FL Studio still the top dog!

For the second year running, MusicRadar users have voted FL Studio their favourite DAW.

The software began life as Fruity Loops, the phenomenally popular step-based beat/groove maker that's been used by aspiring producers the world over (Deadmau5 included). However, full-on DAW status was achieved some time ago - if you think that this is merely an entry-level application that only allows you to create loops, you need to take a second look.

FL Studio might not be for everyone, but if its workflow agrees with you, you'll never look back. There's even an iOS version now, and version 11 has kept the desktop version moving forward by adding a Performance mode, multitouch support, new synths and new effects. What's more, you get the feeling that there are even greater things to come.

Its top position might be (possibly and probably) due to a tendency for people using other DAWs to make music rather go through every article on how to become more rad. Or, more accurately, FL users may be more prone to going through all possible music-related websites. Or not. But certainly adds to that

FL Studio is really great! i'll switch from Cubase to S1 but FL will move with me!

But seriously, it's still my favourite. They'd have to totally drop the ball down a deep dark abyss for me to really consider jumping ship. Not beyond possibility, but for now...I'm still an FLStudio (big) kid.

The text in the short descriptions seems to be the same as last year, and the user interface screenshots do also not show the most recent versions.

Thanks to the frequent promotions FL is one of the cheapest DAWs, which is why many beginners use it.

I guess one can safely ignore that ranking...

Just because some ppl don't consider it to be a pro DAW, doesn't mean it can't be popular. One thing has nothing to do with the other.

You don't like it, don't use it, but commenting on people's choices looks a bit odd to me. IMO, of course
