Hi all,

I really need some advice on iPad DAWs - I have just bought a new iPad again and am looking at the options for mobile music creation. Ideally I'd like a companion to Ableton Live (my usual laptop workflow is to compose with midi and samples in Live, take the midi track exports into Studio One or Logic and record the extrnal synths and do all my audio overdubs and finishing off mixing). If I could have something to simply exchange midi and audio files easily enough with Live (and work in a similar manner to Live while out and about) that would be perfect...I could compose while travelling and then take my ideas into either Ableton or Logic when I get my laptop out.

To this end I bought Electrify...I love the UI but import/export is extremely limited and there is no real midi support. Plus it looks like the last update was two years ago so Electrify may well be pretty much abandonware. So my question is...is there anything like Electrify with full midi/audio import export with midi sync/wist? I am completely baffled by all the options (cubasis, nanostudio, beatmaker 2, Auria), every time I look there is something I haven't seen before and apple does not allow you to try demos so any help or advice would be massively appreciated. I don't mind paying good money, so if cubasis is the best option for excample then I am happy to spend whatever but I really need the right tool for my needs and don't want to spend £100s of pounds on software I may never use.

Thanks for any advice you can give
