I searched the site and couldn't really find anything about Marxophones - wanted to find a VST (or samples maybe) so that I can use one in a piece that I'm putting together.

Preferably free or cheap as it's the run up to Christmas and don't want to spend money before then.

Anyone know of one?

Not free but ran across this for you:

Yes, there's one by Wavesfactory:

It's not expensive (EUR 14.95) and sounds good (IMO). There are some sound demos available.

Edit: too late ... :)

Thanks guys. There's also one by Rattly and Raw:

Now I'm more wondering if anyone has used either of these (or others) and can comment on how playable they are?

Post

Cheaper too.

Now I'm wondering, does anyone actually play a Zither anymore? I thought they went out in 30's or so.....literally, the 30's....0030....:hihi:

Good luck in your quest! :)

Get a Leninophone instead. It's much more revolutionary.

Sorry, couldn't resist.

I bought the Wavesfactory set. I haven't actually used it in a song yet, but it sounds great! Extremely playable.
Incomplete list of my gear: 1/8" audio input jack.

That's good to know!

Not sure which one of the two to get yet, but still looking around - I think the two above would be the only options though based on what I've seen so far from Googling.

Not so much detail on that one on their site. Do you use it?
