I'm looking for a midi chords generator that does the following thing:
- you give a chord progression and it outputs the midi chords
Please advise. Thank you!

CrimsonWarlock aka TechnoGremlin, using Reaper and a fine selection of freeware plugins.

Also maybe try the demo of ToonTrack's EZkeys (watch the overview video first)
By the way, if you just want something which does what you want, I'd avoid Band In a Box. It's powerful -- it does what you want plus much more -- but it is hugely complicated and just .. a mess, really.

It also doesn't do some things you would like it to do, but then what software does it all?
I really don't find it complicated at all TBH. Choose a key, tempo and type in your progression. BIAB will even suggest chords for you if you get stuck.
A mess? Possibly, due to the many menu items and duplicate ways to get things done. This is one of the most criticized features and many are hoping an update with a fresh GUI is coming. 'Bout that time of year.
EZKeys is good too. Just can't get along with what they want for it Keep waiting for that sale to roll in; maybe Black Friday

if you have ipad lemur you might take a look at rechorder from arts unmuted.
you would have to press the chords manually after another but you can choose from many thousands and put them on hotkeys.
i love it.
the xfer records solution is of course also very nice.

Either of the two free programs here, similar to Band In a Box, PC only

I recommend you go through the tutorials in the help file.
pretty powerful stuff, but does your basic requirement

Amazon: why not use an alternative

Forgot, also Temper has a chord track and you can enter custom chords
http://www.angryredplanet.com/temper/
This is also a hugely powerful program if you can figure it out, not much documentation. But the chord track is easy to set up once you know how.
Also does note decor; per note automation.
The Arp is soooooomuch fun and the shaping system is genius but not good for acurate stuff
