Comparative analysis of J&MC and KVR way of making music

I recently got hold of the Jesus & Mary Chain Psycocandy reissue, which comes with a CD booklet with interviews with the band and others. There I read one interesting thing:

The Reid Bros. bought their first instrument in the mid'70's (a bass), and then sat around 5 years discussing pretty thoroughly which music they were going to make, without playing or recording a single note!

And that was a good strategy, because that patience paid of, they went on to make music which have made them legends in certain circles.

So for anybody who feels that they are wasting time hanging around the forums and chit-chatting, know that that is just another way to success

I think there's also a fallacy floating around that you need to spend every waking moment of your life making music or you're not valid, when creative endeavors don't work like that.

Anyone who's truly creative knows it doesn't work like that.

And most of them feel bad about it.

Creativity comes at a premium. To be a successful artist, you need to live a full life, and that means doing things other than making music.

A lot of frustrated people out there, but you can't let it get to you.

What, prey, is the KVR way of making music?

I'm guessing it involves buying lots of gear and memorising it's specs, then spending all day measuring it's abilities and output, such as the symmetry of it's saw wave, it's S/N ratio, the topology of it's filter, and the shape of it's envelope tails

(have to admit, I'm guilty of a couple of those myself, but only in the best possible taste!)
