Lingering network error for crossover cable network connecti

When trying to connect my windows laptop to my receptor 2+ the muse remote control program would not see it over the crossover cable. I went in through the front panel settings to find the setting and it was set to crossover. When I turned the dial to see the ip address it said no network. I shut the unit down and connected a monitor and keyboard directly and rebooted the receptor. Once the mixer came up I went to the setup window and the crossover button was selected but the address window was grayed out and in red lettering was the message along side the ip address windows that said "Error(s) lingering network. The last time I tried connecting several weeks ago everything was fine but now this appears to be hosed for the time being. I tried to manually replace the address but it would not accept it. Is this a problem that has appeared in the past and does it reflect a hardware failure or software fault. I loaded a beta copy of the new system 2.0.1 20130709. Not sure if something has happened because of that or not. I had a very strange boot up error last night which has not re surfaced today so I am confused and concerned if there is an upcoming failure that I need to prepare for in my immediate future. Let me know as otherwise things have been Ok except for the Swam instrument issues but that is probably between me and them at this point.
