External Mics for Android devices

I've been wondering recently are there any external microphones for android other than iRig Mic Cast thingie out there?
And if is here anyone who's using it?

For some time now I am getting more and more into field recordings - nothing fancy, noises really - for basic tasks I use my smartphone 'as is', but sometimes you just need something better and I don't want to shell out for semi pro dedicated recorder and mic just yet. So this is why I got this idea with iRig - way chiper than recorder and relatively better quality than smartphone's mic. A perfect solution for me, it seems.

So, can you tell me anything about it?
