Back in the day before the ipad there were multiple teams of programmer bringing out the most innovative and brilliant VST/i on mass, it seem a week didn't go by without an announcement or release of a new synth or effect. Then bam the ipad comes out and virtualy every company switched tack and started programming for it, obviously this is because its like a sacred golden cow that can pour money milk out of the bovine zombie hords like no other device can. But my problem is the new programs coming out for it are not very innovative apart from the touch screenness, just remakes of rubbish old synths and really lame daws. In comparison to the likes of Arturia Moog, Massive, sub boom bass etc they're a joke.
My biggest beef is with amplitube who we're on the cutting edge of their game and we're just about to release a comprehensive foot pedal for amplitube (the best amp sim imho) then ipad, then sack the controller off and make everything for the ipad and bring out a little plastic toy foot controller for the ipad
But many other software companies have taken this approach too.
Now i'm not total backwards and stuck in the past and i can see in a few years they could be amazing with a bit of inovation but now it seems we've take a large step back.
What say you?
