Has anyone ever had to dispute a takedown notice on SoundC?

I wrote an original track and soundcloud sent me a take down notice saying it contained copyright elements from another track. It doesn't actually contain any other elements of any other tracks unless you count some of the samples I used out of maschine. So I was just wondering is this actually an automatic takedown as they say or was this initiated by the owner of the copyright of the other track?

And I was going to dispute it, but my tracks are unreleased and I put them on soundcloud just to be out there. I read through all the technical jargon and they said they need my phone, email and address which they will send to the other party before they will be able to consider releasing the track. Since it's an original I don't have any concerns about being caught out, but i am not all that comfortable with sending all my personal contact details to people I don't know.

Oh, and they said if I want to dispute it I should contact DigDis directly. Who are they? http://www.digdis.de/soundcloud/

Anyone have any experience with this? If anything i'm flattered that someone actually thinks my track is good enough to be a copy of a track that was released.

Some record-companies scan Soundcloud for certain keywords.. typically artist-names.. and they report tracks without even listening to them. So chances are you just included a keyword in your track name or description that triggered the report to Soundcloud.

So, in your case I would definately dispute the takedown notice.

Funny things happen at SC sometimes... I had a remix pulled down, that I was actually asked by the label to put up on Soundcloud.. how strange is that
