I just posted a track to SC.
It was immediately reposted/liked by three different pay for play type accounts.
I have no idea why.

Any else every get unsolicited "attention" like this?

That's a new scam to earn some money...

But most of them will disappear (and delete their like) if you don't use their services. I didn't have any problem with it, I was happy when the "pay-for-likes" service disappeared, I don't need their likes.

So not only do I look like an ass to anyone paying attention, but if these guys are stupid, like, say, if they openly advertise the service right in their SC profile, my actual account could be messed with for 'cheating'.

It's not really new, there are lot of this click-farms in developing countries . There are similar known things with Facebook. You can buy X likes for Facebook, Twitter, Youtube...

Yeas. Got a mail from some guy claiming to be a producer from Atlanta and said you pay so much and he could guarantee 100 plays and likes on a tune.

I get likes from these camgirls, I always report those accounts immediately, usually they get deleted within an hour or so. Most of these big breasted camgirls claim to be based in the US, but when you check the track stats their true location is revealed, always eastern Europe.

Not really... this are only click-farms with fake accounts etc. This can be bought for every social network. It's a business model based on the wish of many people to have more likes, plays etc. This has nothing to do with real fans or a audience.
