Sound engineering?

Hi everyone !

First at all, I'd like to say sorry because of my English, I'm Spanish, so I'll do my best.

The thing is that I'm finishing high school in two months and I have to choose a career at university, but I'm very confused.

I've loved music since ever. If I chose one thing to study and dedicate, it would be something related with music without doubting, (and it would be sound engineering, because I'd love to work in a studio or in performances). But the problem is that (at least in my country) I just hear things like "There's no job in this world" and, to be honest, I don't want to study a 4 years career to be surviving or even not working.

Also, I have to say that I have on mind to go abroad to another country to live like UK, so it's not a problem for me.

All in all, the question would be:

How do you think is job in studios or performances in countries like UK or USA?
