A passion project of rising startup MDG Web, seevl presents a new way for music lovers to both discover and find information pertaining to new music. Seevl is an unlimited and targeted music discovery platform that, immediately from its homepage, offers suggestions based on what’s trending—though there’s plenty more to it. One registered, the site is a rich resource for personalized recommendations. While music platforms like YouTube, Spotify, and Deezer are focused on content licensing, seevl turned to improving music discovery as its primary objective.

Seriously, though, it's not a half bad idea if you do it right and get the right kind of traffic, but the problem is that many other sites tried doing this and wound up strictly becoming more known to be an EDM discovery site instead of a music discovery site in general. There is more to music than EDM.
Of course I feel music discovery should be done unbiasedly, so I don't think recommending trending artists is the best way, I feel like if it was a Pandora that artists could upload their tracks to it would be better, where over time the user will like and dislike songs and the radio will begin to understand what the user likes to help find music more associated with his or her taste, rather than firing blinding in the dark.
