Dave, I've a serious question for a change ;-)

It's common knowledge that you're working with Douglas of NS_Kit fame on a plugin that shows the full sample set off to its best advantage - and I can't wait. In anticipation, I've started looking at MIDI controllers to work with it...

The DK10 and TrapKIT look particularly appealing ( http://www.alternatemode.com/ ). They both support a hihat pedal. Now, not having read the tech doc, I don't know what it does but will your plug allow it to adjust the openness of the hats (i.e. select a different selection of velocity-mapped samples based on (what I assume is a CC/{N}RPN) pedal input)?

The specification for the plugin isn't completed just yet, and I'm not sure what samples Doug has accumulated for the project. If there's a standard way that hardware "drum brains" handle this sort of pedal controller though I'm sure if Doug has the samples we can probably emulate it in Tachyon.

Hope this helps
Dave

Thanks - I'm sure Doug will have views on how it should be handled, anyway!

Hows the Messe?

Had some interesting meetings

As for the show, a lot of people commented to me that there wasn't that much earth-shattering being announced or to look at, and I'd tend to agree. It seemed to me that the DJ equipment manufacturers are starting to take over the hall, and there's less and less space devoted to the hi-tech music stuff. I remember the days when there was a whole hall seemingly full of interesting new software, now it just seems to be DJ mixers everywhere you look in Hall 5.1

Regards
Dave
