This thing clusters samples by similarity. It's pretty awesome (see demo video, hard to explain with words)

Organizing synth sounds by similarity would be awesome. Is there a way to script this? On any given synth:
- go through an entire bank sequentially
- press C4 for say 4 seconds
- save the sound as .wav, synth-name_bank_sound-nb_sound-name.wav

Maybe reaper's scripting abilities would be up to the task?

After navigating a few samples with soundtorch, I'm hooked.

That is absolutely brilliant and quite beautiful. :love:

Thanks urlwolf for the link to Soundtorch.

As an inspirational tool, I can see me coming back time and again to it. In essence to find sounds that can fit amongst one another.
As urlwolf said, it's hard to describe it in words. Nearest I can describe it - it is likening sounds or samples to one another.

I've been playing about with this for a couple of hours and keep coming back to this approach;
which is a way to get Soundtorch to add similar sounds a few at a time rather than being swamped with them;

Note 1; if you see no extra sounds or a blank screen select view all.
Note 2; If temptation gets the better of you at any stage and you start playing around with it, no worries, it's great fun !
Note 3; The more there is to the sound/loops the better it works.

1/. add Sounds to map and select all sounds from a folder.

2/. Repeat Step 1 for as many folders as you wish.

3/. Not sure if this is necessary but save map.

4/. new map.

5/. add Sounds to map and select a sound or sounds from any folder(s) you wish (it doesn't need to be one you have selected previously).

6/. select a sound and use C.A.S.E. import; this will add any similar sounds from the files you originally loaded.

Remember, if you see no extra sounds or get a blank screen select view all.

Or ignore all that and just see what it can do for yourselves.

its a great idea for samples

though using this to preview Several Synths plugin presets is impossible

unless u save a sample for every synth and every presets
If your plugin is a Synth-edit/synth-maker creation, Say So.
If not Make a Mac version of your Plugins Please.
