Would it be better to get an Associates degree from the School of Audio Engineering in Chicago? or get a Professional Certificate in Electronic Music Production and Sound Design from Berklee?

Which one has a better curriculum? is more credible? Say for example, i want to apply to get into the Jacobs School of Music for Recording and Music Technology , which one would look better in a portfolio?

I've been producing for about 2 years but want a lot more experience in the field. I guess i just don't know where to start. My plan was to go to Berklee Online for Electronic Music Production and Sound Design, then apply to the Jacobs School of Music for Recording and Music Technology. Any suggestions?

I suppose my opinion may be biased, as I'm a Berklee graduate, and I never even heard of the other place. Berkle is a very good college, and their audio recording program is top notch. I would ask why you don't simply get your batchelor's degree at Berklee, but I'm really not sure what they have on offer for their online programs. I do wholeheartedly recommend it though, for any sort of education in the areas of music and audio.

Thank you! it's nice to get feedback from a graduate! Greatly appreciated. I think im going to enroll in their online certificate program for Electronic Music Production with Ableton Live.

Good luck! I signed up for a clinic this Monday on Sonar. It should be interesting.
