Hi everyone

Whilst perusing the net today for some stuff, I found this rather excellent article from around 2004 by SOS's Gordon Reid.
It's about the history of Roland and their main man Ikutaro Kakehashi:

Not only is it a rather inspiring story about the determination of Ikutaro Kakehashi overcoming considerable odds (not least a 'terminal' illness as a young man) on quite a few occasions, but it is also a very interesting article about the creation of synthesizers, electronic drums and other wonderful beasts from the 1970s and beyond.

It fascinated me anyway!
Cheers.

Now back to that stuff again...

Great read, thanks for sharing. I'm only at '75, but it doesn't get boring, gonna finish it. Great chronicles.

*wonders why 'terminal' illness was in 'quotes'*

*notices he celebrated a 75th birthday*

Mystery solved :hihi:

It's great when doctors tell someone they're going to die and they're like "nope".

Roland, on the other hand, seem to have died a death somewhat, though there's no denying they were once a giant.
