Just downloaded the free version MuLab. I will not be using any vst, while recording my guitar playing other than what is on a backing track. Is this the DAW for me? Just asking before I get too deep into learning MuLab.

Post

DAWs are just like instruments really. It's a matter of preference and how you would like to work.

If you get everything done, that you need to get done and it feels convenient for you, then it's the DAW for. If you discover that you have a different requirement then you will have to switch later.

Just because you make a switch at any point in time does not mean that suddenly all your old work is obsolete. It still works in your old DAW. And if you need to bring it into the new one, well, it's a bit of a PITA.

im not familiar with NUlab, but i think what you might want to research are the audio effects.

for a guitar youll still want to compress and multi ban probably. eq afterwards too.

My favorite Guitar amp is a vst for 140 by Waves.com it sounds excellent to me. it even has effects. unlike other software where u pay 100 per guitar amp, on GTR3 you get it all included.

GTR3 is awesome. i like ableton live DAW. whuch you can get with an m audio fast track and plug your guitar into it too..
Ableton Live 8 Suite 64 Bit, Sylenth1 64 Bit,Rapture, Zeta+2,Synthmaster, Dimenison Pro, Mo' Phatt. and Waves plugs.
