Rumors came up that he had a ghost producer, rich parents or other stuff. Now it's confirmed by Universal Music that this track was co-produced by Carlos Escalona together with recording artist NAFSICA (link)
Carlos confirmed at Twitter that he wrote the song together with the singer Nafsica.

And honestly, who takes anything that happens in the media circus at face value. It wouldn't suprise me if all of these tunes were being churned out by a computer program somewhere - they're all so similar.
Yes, I know, music you don't like all tends to sound the same, but I've got my critical listening ears on and still am flabberghasted at how much money is made simply painting by numbers, while the real creative stuff mostly falls by the wayside.
This stuff is so mass produced it makes three chord rock and roll seem like some kind of advanced science from a futuristic race of aliens, while this stuff is banging rocks together and barking out triplets.

I could finally listen to it with my faster internet connection and I thought: Wow...sounds like an EDM tutorial "How to make dance music?" 
But what happened with the good ol' raspy supersaws? They sound like they used some square waves instead...
(BTW, I still hope that Calvin Harris may find back to creativity, his older songs were absolutely funny, his newer stuff sounds like generic EDM, too.
I have the impression that as soon as people are signed by a major label, their songs are getting worse.)

I will not judge the track, it's hitting the Beatport chart so we must accept that there are some (a lot) people who like this kind of music.
But I don't hope this is the future of EDM, where we see 10 year old kids performing stuff and saying "I have produced this" because their parents/family having good connections and money.

I said the same thing about this other teenage producer called Madeon, it hasn't been confirmed but I always believed there was a conglomerate of 30 something's behind his music. Regarding this kid, It doesn't surprise me one bit. I agree with what you said though. I can make better tunes if I pay a guy who has 6 years experience producing versus my n00b ass producing something myself the hard way. I'm just trying to say those who battle against the grain, and make it, have way more respect than this kid who nobody will seriously respect.

Their father, the World Boss Vybz Kartel, just got a murder conviction last month, so these kids probably will be needing some money for their upkeeping. But heck, I think they might as well have some future in the music biz, their dad being a superstar and all, and they got good flow. The song is a cover though, the .
That ten year old kid is odd though. My own son turned nine a month ago and it would be silly if he'd be topping charts next year. Effing cool though, can't deny.

I always find these "Hey look here is a 3.1415 years old kid making music!" thingies rather boring. If you have to use something except the music itself to make your music more interesting, you are probably doing something wrong.
