---I really love the sounds with this app and want to used them in our band, here's my problem and I hope someone here has an answer and please be nice.
Our band consist of guys over 40 and we're doing Kansas, Zepplin, etc..so to be able to hit the notes vocally we had to tune down 1/2 step. I can't figure out how to transpose the sounds and I did look in the manual but everything they said to do doesn't seem to work so I wrote to the company.
The person I spoke to there is very nice and I appreciated his dilemma with adding a feature that maybe only we would use, not practical but those sounds would go so great with our music!

Any suggestions he and I haven't thought of short of tuning back up and singing old people's songs?

You should hopefully be able to use your keyboard as the way to transpose. What keyboard are you using? Does it allow you to create a patch for controlling external gear? If so, there should be a transpose value and you can have it send that transposed data out a specific MIDI channel and not effect anything else.

Just a thought, you might be able to use synergy with audiobus and birdstepper which has a real time pitch effect.

Or you could use midibridge to transpose midi input.

Right now I'm using a Yamaha MM6 synth to control the iPad, its midi capabilities appear to be pretty limited but I will experiment with it to see if I can do this. The sounds on Synergy are so great it'd be a shame to not be able to use them.
I really appreciate the replies and will try all of the suggestions...

Hahaha.

I looked in the MM6 manual and you are right. The MIDI ability is limited. Unfortunately, it seems the transpose is GLOBAL. This works, as you've noticed, but I highly stress the point to REMEMBER to change it when you play live. This is why I like to program in my octave shifts into my patches.

The other option is to re-learn your songs in the lower key.

---Thanks for the advice. Right now I've connected my iPad to my Korg M-50 and with the very limited amount of time I have to work with it during the day it might do better than the MM6...might! I've found out that I can't remap the midi channels to place the sounds on a single one for layering but who knows...Tonight I try it again!!! LOL

The M-50 should be able to do it. You will need to go into Combi mode. Combi mode will let you create layers/splits across different MIDI channels too. One of the options in Combi is to select to transpose a single track. Page 50 of the owners manual mentions the transpose function. Page 49 has a screenshot in the upper right with a tab named Pitch. I would also look in that tab to see if this will let you transpose.

I have an old Korg 01/WFD and I use the Combis for controlling external gear and creating layers across various MIDI channels. I use transpose to change the octave I want to use.
