Does anybody know a good sample library for:
scratched metal
metal hits
cog wheels / gear moving, etc

Thanks

Since you havent mentioned a specific sampler, I'll have to assume you mean raw .WAV-or-whatever style sample files.

Thanks for the suggestions, I will check into that.

I mainly use Alchemy and Kontakt as samplers.

For Kontakt, you'll find some interesting (and fairly cheap, generally) metal percussion, bowed cymbal etc libraries through Sampleism, a conglomerate of small sound designers. Atomhub has a couple too, eg Toolshed.

SoundIron also has some stuff in the same territory, but its more deeply sampled, and some of it is more expensive.

Thanks again Whyterabbbyt!
I started checking the samples of Hiss and a Roar, they are really nice.
I will take the time to check the other sites, there is a lot to listen to.

If you don't mind spending some money, check out Kinetic Metal for Kontakt (99€/$) and Steamworx for Alchemy (49€). Both fantastic libraries, i use them all the time.

I once recorded some small scale metal objects being hit or bowed with violin bow and a big bicycle wrench hit with a hammer. Not quite a library, but there is no cost involved.

Yeah, definately. I could't remember the name before but i knew there was another library. An excellent one at that, highly recommended.

I have a 'Scrap Percussion Bundle' available for £5.99 on Sampleism. It features hundreds of metallic hits over five Kontakt instruments.

Thanks everyone for your suggestions.
I took the time to check all mentioned products.
Everything was very interesting. I fell in love with the Hiss and a Roar sound bank, it is very extensive and shows a lot of potential.
It is out of my price range for right now, but I will keep an eye on it.
I will stick with Damage for the moment.

... and special thanks to Zombie Queen for the free banks, much appreciated!

...and nobody made a "samples of Bon Jovi LPs in poor condition" joke.
