Hello everyone,
I'm knew here and have basic music skills. I was wondering if anyone knows where I can find free VSTs related to Zelda music or any good free VSTs.
Thank you,
ZeldaMusic

Hrm. I don't know about N64, but if we can go with older Zelda games, for a SNES/NES sound:
Modplug/Renoise trackers

Well here is a picture of Koji Kondo playing with a setup of stuff in 2005, so maybe he still has some of the same equipment that he used while making OOT and MM.

Hopefully some others will be able to identify the modules that are in the pictures.

Okay so I did some reading about the N64.
No midi yet but something more like a tracker with samples. (Probably recorded from those synths.)
Downsampler/Bitcrusher, since even on a N64 they had to squeeze everything on the cartridge still: http://bedroomproducersblog.com/2012/03 ... u-plugins/
I don't know how different this is from the Proteus he has but hey, it's free: http://www.creative.com/emu/proteusvx/

hopefully this helps point you in the right direction. Unfortunately it will be hard to find alot of the sounds as free vsti due to the sounds having copyrights on them. Your best bet would be to save up and buy the hardware secondhand.
Also the Nintendo 64 specs are here to give you an idea of what it was capable of.

This might be of interest if you save up some money..
Looks like you can pick up all 3 for around $100.00 a piece.

I imagine there might be sample libraries, but you'll have to look around for alternatives. My best advice would be to get the actual modules and use Midi from your DAW and then record the outputs oldschool style!
