Superlative opener to "Kiss Me Kiss Me Kiss Me", nearly 4 minutes of it is basicall an extended, building 'intro', always feeling like its just about to break into the body of the song proper, while constantly cranking up the sense of anticipation. Wunnerful.
edited for the poor soul who seemed uttely baffled by a typo.

Nothing ever said 'this is a pretty f**king different kind of metal album' quite like starting with a cover of Wall of Voodoo.

wow !! haven't heard 'black celebration' for so long (probably not since it was released)..takes me back
ok..trying to decide between various smiths entries proved really difficult. it could have easily been 'the queen is dead' or 'the headmaster ritual', but i gave it to the opener to 'hatful of hollow'. probably my favourite smiths song, and one that really shows off how brilliant johnny marr was
the smiths - 'william, it was really nothing, from 'hatful of hollow'
