Hmm. Based on a cursory viewing, it kinda looks like Effectrix crossed with Turnado and maybe a dash of slicing via Egoist.
Not wowed, but will be interesting to demo to see how it compares to, or compliments the aforementioned.

This seems to do nothing their earlier (and excellent) tools can't already do, and 1001 other tools do (perhaps with a bit more work). Turnado is a monster, both for random inspiration and military precision geekery.
And to be honest this kind of effect sequencing is getting old, generic and stale real fast. Yes, sometimes an artist manages to do something with it that speaks to me, but often I find myself wondering if the settings and placement of the effects really matter at all - in other words - are they conveying anything, or are they just stylistic markers or fluff.
Not a criticism of the tools so much as how they are mostly used.
Listen to Aphex Twin's IZ-US. He throws in a few effects/DSP windows, but they sound right in the song. They say something and contribute to the imagery.
Ok, don't mind me now, I'm just rambling

Seeing how reasonably priced Egoist for iPad is, why does always PC/Mac users need to dig so deepMillerSam wrote:Sugar Bytes just released the new FX Sequencer for 119 Euro / 119 Dollar

That's the ART and no wonder why you mention Turnado.Sendy wrote:Listen to Aphex Twin's IZ-US. He throws in a few effects/DSP windows, but they sound right in the song. They say something and contribute to the imagery.

The only multifx thing that has really made my ears pop with interest was Molekular from NI. I managed to beat down the rising GAS with that one, so imagine I'll be the same here.
Will check it out though.
Gotta be done innit!

Apple set the paradigm on app pricing, really.... I suppose the spirit behind it is that there are millions of potential buyers and the fact there is only ONE store from which they can purchase makes those buyers a bit of a captive audience. SO...when there is a new iOS app, it gets more attention than it would if it were a computer app and therefore more potential buyers ....and when it's a lower price point, there are bound to be many more impulse buyers for a $15-30 iOS app than a $99 computer app.Numanoid wrote:Seeing how reasonably priced Egoist for iPad is, why does always PC/Mac users need to dig so deepMillerSam wrote:Sugar Bytes just released the new FX Sequencer for 119 Euro / 119 Dollar
there is also the school of thought that might suggest: buy the iOS stuff, do all your audio treatments via iPad, port your results to PC/Mac and build your song there.
reaching around your butt to get to your other elbow? Perhaps, but it is possible. and it IS a way to NOT pay exorbitant prices for apps that are available on both computer and iOS...
(that said- even in iOS land, SugarBytes offerings are a bit pricier than other comparative apps)

Watched a couple of the videos and, like others, I don't understand how this is really different from their other available products (which I love, btw).

wtf. i guess they couldn't just update effectrix.. it'd would've saved them having to think of a really dumb name like "looperator"
that being said it looks and sounds nice but also as said does what 10 other things already do including sugar bytes own plug ins... which brings me back to - why didn't they just update effectrix?

If you just look past their silly marketing, a tool like this can be just as useful as any other if used carefully. It has an endless arsenal of different effects and they all seem to sound really musical. Stuff like this can be great for adding interesting transitions, build ups, rolls or even just adding reverb or delays on certain hits.
One thing I try to avoid is the smart-randomizer functions in so many products these days, at the end of the day it feels cheap - like using pre-made loops you randomly browsed through.

BTW, what happens if you already own SugarBytes omnibus "The Big Package"
Do you get new products included for free, when they are released?

Instead of this they should upgrade old plugins, like to update guitarist, they promised 2 years ago a lot of new features, but nothing happens. If you buy something from u-he or d16 or a lot of other companies, there are following so many new features for free. They only want to make money with their effects in new gui, so I can wait for next half price offer in summer or latest haloween, if it realy offers something new than turnado or effectrix
