It was designed specifically to use with the Korg Volca Sample but it can be used by itself.
On Android, you can record and edit samples. They can be saved to the device storage.
Note: the iOS build has been submitted and is still waiting for Apple's review

Cool I also downloaded Caustic for Mac and it works now (couldn't get a note out of it before). It has some nice instruments, I just find the pattern approach hard to use (I keep trying to record myself playing and finding it playing it back to me while I'm still trying to play)

aMUSEd - You need to pre-define the length of your pattern. On the piano roll, click the 'GRID' button at the top. On the left-side are 8x, 4x and 2x. Select the length you want. It is a set pattern length and by default, I think patterns are one measure, which is why you would hear yourself played back while you are recording. This workflow is on the iPad, the Mac might be a little different.
