just want to say kind of hello and write about a long story "how I came to RC" in short and at tell about first experiences after using the acual deal to at least buy RC (after years and years of thinking and "fear"....).
I do this because I think I am not the only one. And after two days of using RC at least it seems kind of ridiculous to me how much "fear" I had that I wont understand nothing of this so complicated software and just be lost....And I believe that I share this opinion with most of the people who ever (from version 1 until now) have heard of and been interested in this software.
Enough. "Where to start" ?
Attila just brings it all to the point in an answer to one of my early questions in half of a sentence:
"....use the right mouse button".
And thats IT. Just view the great videos of Chris (how I love "I dont really understand that in total, but....."
You will find some treasures on this treasurehunt. Then its time enough to look in the manual, search for a tutorial, and OF COURSE (sorry for this Attila, but you ARE the brain and centerpoint of it all
I know some "Veterans" of this forum blame that the same questions are asked again and again, but I think in case of RC that IS the way cause evrybody had HIS/HER questions.
And the marvellous thing about RC is that it is kind of the riddle bevor the door of the hidden door of the dwarfs in front of Smaugs treasur: the answer is EASY, but at least you have to find it....
I really had so much fear I would spent that lot of money and understand nothing, be frustrated etc.. And now I am kind of addicted, once (and that can be in very short time !) you get the "keyword" (right mouse button
What I did in theses two days ? Mainly trying out the "idea tool", then you have a composition to try and learn evrything. Merged the results with some work of another great sequencing tool (hope I can mention it hear though it might be competition: called Sundog and is really great at easily producing chord sequences and accompanying patterns for different instruments), rendered it in my DAW. And realized the worlds I have to explore (like Pattern morph etc....).
If theses words get some resonance in you and you are thinking about the actual deal, just DO it (no, I am not paid....), it really opens a world threw a hidden door...
Kind regards,
Richard
