I prefer semi anyway - hope the aftertouch action is good though

Yeah this is pretty much everything I wanted to do with Zen, minus the online DB thing. And of course it is a lot more solid.
The action is really nice. I like it a lot better than the Max series.

Does it loads AU and VST3 as well? Does it have wider support for preset formats?

It says VIP loads 8 instruments at once. How about effects?
This really looks like Kore resurrected.

I hope they bring out a desktop version - tbh I really don't need another keyboard, just the controller/plugin organisation

No. Only vst2.4. But it loads as an AU in Logic, or as an AAX in Pro-Tools.aMUSEd wrote:Does it loads AU and VST3 as well? Does it have wider support for preset formats?
You don't get to deal with preset formats anyway. It imports presets automatically and stores them as fxp, but you don't get to see these files - you just click on the preset name.

Only instruments in V1, but effects will come soon. Of course, as it is a plugin you can always route it through effects in your DAW.EvilDragon wrote:It says VIP loads 8 instruments at once. How about effects?.

Frankly, the controller/plugin organisation is cool, but once coupled to the dedicated HW it takes a completely new dimension. They put a lot of thought into playability, you can really play this thing and forget about the computer.aMUSEd wrote:I hope they bring out a desktop version - tbh I really don't need another keyboard, just the controller/plugin organisation

Oh yeah I want the hardware but just without the keys (I already have 3 full size keyboards plus 1 25 key, no room for more)Big Tick wrote:Frankly, the controller/plugin organisation is cool, but once coupled to the dedicated HW it takes a completely new dimension. Right. I'm thinking more in line NI Kore, you could do the whole setlist in there.
As for "forget about the computer part"... I would need more knobs and buttons for that (16 of each), personally.

Right. There is a setlist concept in there, where you can define sets of 127 patches (or layers) and move through them using program changes, but they don't include effects. However effects support is at the top of the feature list, so eventually it will.

Might be worth it to expand that to Bank Select+Program Change messages too, for multiple setlists etc. (Also, why 127, why not 128, since that's how many different Program Change values you can send out?)
