Hi - advice welcome..I'm looking at creating a good host/slave system with Logic as the DAW.. I have what I'd expect to be MOST of the necessary components..suggestions (on setup / additional components to make current system better with minimal additional investment) welcome! Thanks in advance - here is what I have:

- iMac 27" - quad core, late 2009 running Logic Studio 9 - 12gb ram
- Focusrite saffire Pro 24 FireWire interface
- MacBook Pro, Dual Core, late 2006
- Receptor Trio Plugin Player with NI libraries which can be paired with or run independent from (next)
- Presonus 1818vsl Interface

Current setup: Receptor / Presonus combo running instrument libraries sending optical ADAT audio into iMac / Logic/Focusrite combo in real time... (Old MacBook isn't in use)

This works well for certain projects but I miss having the capability of editing the instruments/midi info as I would if I had NI running directly on iMac..before getting a receptor, once too many libraries running, I need to freeze or bounce tracks for larger projects..

Is there a better setup anyone can recommend? I feel somewhat limited with the receptor since it isn't a typical CPU system that I can easily upgrade/modify.. - is there a better way I can utilize what I have by going into logic's environment? Perhaps 3rd party app suggestions for streaming via Ethernet/network cable etc? - Thanks!!

Thanks for the reply - I've been reading up on VEpro - I don't believe I can run it on Receptor's OS..I suppose an additional slave PC may be ideal..
